Stadtkapelle Aulendorf starts instrumental lessons for children!

From September 2025, the Aulendorf town band will offer comprehensive instrumental lessons aimed at children who want to learn a wind instrument or drums. A current announcement emphasizes that both beginners and advanced students, such as those from the wind instruments class at the school at Schlosspark Aulendorf or at the St. Johann high school in Blönried, are cordially invited to take part in the lessons. The instruments flute, clarinet, saxophone and drums are particularly on the curriculum. Those interested can register by email jugendleiter@stadtkapelle-aulendorf.de or contact Mr. Werner Leser, Hauptstraße 60, 88326 Aulendorf directly.

The impetus for this project comes from the committed team of the city band, where youth leader Jan Keckeisen, together with a youth committee consisting of Steffen Ocker, Christina and Werner Leser, is responsible for coordinating youth training. A central goal is to promote entry into the youth band and to enable participation in D1, D2 and D3 courses, which are essential for further musical education. In addition, various events such as audition afternoons, instrument performances and stays in huts are organized.

Early musical education and recorder lessons

The town band places particular emphasis on early musical education for the youngest children. Children aged 4 to 6 have the opportunity to take part in singing, speaking, music and movement as well as elementary instrumental playing in the school center on Tuesdays. For slightly older children, aged 5 and over, recorder lessons are also offered, which are carried out with soprano and alto recorders. The main goal of this lesson is to teach students the basics of music education.

Training to play wind and percussion instruments begins for children from around the age of 8. Individual or group lessons are offered, led by music teachers from the Bad Waldsee Music School and qualified musicians from the Aulendorf town band. The instrument selection includes trumpet, tenor horn, trombone, French horn, flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophone, percussion and tuba. After two to three years of training, there is the opportunity to play in the youth band BEATZ, which was founded in 2017 and brings together young people between the ages of 11 and 20.

The youth band and its activities

The youth band BEATZ, formed from a merger of six music bands, offers young musicians new playing opportunities, strong register line-ups and the chance to give independent concerts. The rehearsals take place on Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to around 7:00 p.m. at different locations. The highlights in the annual calendar of events include the May Festival in Münchenreute, the village festival in Tannhausen, the Stöckle Festival in Ebersbach, and the castle and children's festival in Aulendorf. The rehearsals and performances not only promote further musical education, but also teamwork and community spirit among the young musicians.

In summary, it can be said that the Aulendorf town band, with its wide range of instrumental lessons and the BEATZ youth band, offers a valuable platform for the musical education of children and young people in the region. The commitment of those responsible, especially youth leader Jan Keckeisen, ensures that the interests and needs of the young musicians are brought to the fore.
