Lotto jackpot of 10 million euros: Are you there?

The lottery draw took place on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 with an impressive jackpot of 10 million euros. The winning numbers were 1 – 6 – 15 – 28 – 47 – 48, and the super number was 7. This confirmed the Fulda newspaper.

Lotto 6 out of 49, the most popular state-sanctioned lottery in Germany, has been one of the best-known games since its introduction in 1955. Drawings take place twice weekly, on Wednesdays at 6:25 p.m. and Saturdays at 7:25 p.m., and are broadcast live lotto.de as well as the Lotto YouTube channel.

Game rules and chances of winning

The aim of the game is to select 6 winning numbers from numbers 1 to 49. A lottery ticket contains 12 betting fields, with 6 numbers having to be marked in each field. The super number is defined by the last digit of the ticket number. To win, at least 2 numbers must match the winning numbers drawn and the correct super number.

The winning amount is 50% of the stake and is spread over a total of 9 prize categories. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 139,838,160. The exact chances of winning for the other classes are as follows:

Prize category chance
6 correct + super number 1 to 139,838,160
6 correct 1 in 15,537,573
5 correct + super number 1 in 542,008
5 correct 1 in 60,223
4 correct + super number 1 in 10,324
4 correct 1 in 1,473
3 correct + super number 1 in 567
3 correct 1 in 63
2 correct + super number 1 in 76

Participation and special features

Participation in the Lotto 6 out of 49 is possible from a minimum age of 18 years. Tickets can be purchased at all German lottery acceptance points and online. The costs are 1.20 euros per tip field, plus a processing fee of 0.20 euros. The total cost for an entire drawing is 14.40 euros.

To increase the chances of winning, players can play additional lotteries such as Game 77, SUPER 6 and GlücksSpirale in conjunction with Lotto 6 out of 49. These additional games have their own costs and winning structures. Winnings from the lottery can be paid out up to three years after the gaming order has expired.

The first public drawing took place on October 9, 1955 in Hamburg, and since 2013 the drawings have been carried out on Saarländischer Rundfunk in Saarbrücken. The maximum jackpot in the Lotto 6 out of 49 is 50 million euros, while the Eurojackpot even has an upper limit of 120 million euros. However, since November 1, 2023, the maximum jackpot will only be paid out if the highest prize category is reached.

The versatility and attractive chances of winning make Lotto 6 out of 49 a popular leisure activity for many Germans, with over 10 million game orders per week.
