In second place is **Monterey**, which was eliminated in the first round of the Central Coast Section Open Division playoffs. This marked the end of the career of the talented pitcher and slugger Ella Myers, who had a decisive influence on many games for the team.

**Alvarez** follows in third place and remains the three-time Central Coast Section champion despite a loss in the Division II semifinals to San Mateo. **Hollister**, ranked fourth, also had a tough time, falling in the Central Coast Section Division I quarterfinals. Their consistent participation in the postseason since 2000 is remarkable.

The **Pacific Grove** team won the Mission Division Championship in fifth place, but was eliminated by finalist San Mateo in the Division II playoffs. **Palma** made it to sixth place, using four fresh talents in the 4-3 loss to Woodside in the Division IV final. Seventh-seeded Scotts Valley was riding an impressive 12-game winning streak to advance to the Tri-Region before losing to Gilroy in the CCS Division I quarterfinals.
