Parish festival and family café: Steinheim celebrates a lively community!

Today, July 6, 2025, Steinheim offers its citizens a variety of offers and events that enrich cultural and community life. In the next few weeks there are several important events on the agenda that will shape the cityscape. For example, today the parish festival in St. Nicholas takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On July 10th, the new family café in the family and generation center will open its doors, where a cozy get-together for families will take place once a month on Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. - with a contribution towards expenses of 5 euros per family.

Current developments in local infrastructure and cultural heritage are also of great importance. The old parish church of Steinheim is open to visitors on weekends from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. until September 21st. A digital tour allows those interested to explore the history of the church virtually. Members of the support association are available to answer questions.

Renovation and new projects

The city is also planning to renovate the Steinheimer Bridge, whose current condition was rated as inadequate with a condition rating of 3.4. Plans for the start of this work are planned for 2026, although a longer full closure is not planned. This is an important measure to ensure the safety of the transport infrastructure.

A general meeting of the CCSW recently took place at which a new board was elected. In this context, numerous events were planned, including the old town festival on June 23rd and a beer garden evening on July 21st.

Kneipp facility and environmental issues

A particularly current topic is the Kneipp facility in Steinheimer Hellental, which has been shut down for several months and will be permanently closed. The closure was caused by overwatering of the site resulting from elevated groundwater levels and heavy rainfall. The beaver also dammed the Hellenbach through its castles, which led to flooding. The technology of the Kneipp pool is badly damaged; renovation would not be economically viable.

An alternative location for a new Kneipp facility was nevertheless found: the Burggarten area between Kreuzweg and Eppsteinstrasse. Markus Henrich, the head of the responsible company HIS, has confirmed that drilling a well can ensure the water supply for the new Kneipp pool. A temporary Kneipp pool could be installed in the Burggarten as early as 2025, with the aim of completing a new facility by the 2026 Kneipp season. This information was also confirmed by op-online.de.

Citizen engagement

In addition, state letters of honor were recently awarded to Hildegard Geberth and Barbara Horch for their voluntary work. This highlights the active role of citizens in the community. Meanwhile, the death of Waldtraud Hoppe, who died at the age of 84, is also being mourned. The long-time community representative Inge Stöckel is also leaving the community after 27 years.

The multitude of events and initiatives shows how important their community and environment are to the people of Steinheim. The regional portal “s Blättsche” remains a central source of information to stay up to date on developments in Steinheim, as blaettsche.de also informs. The coming weeks promise to hold interesting and moving events for both large and small citizens.
