Merzig attracts medical students: Become a doctor with us!”
The city of Merzig is actively trying to encourage aspiring doctors to settle in the region. In this context, a flyer was published with the title “Become a doctor with us in Merzig!” created to emphasize the city's advantages as an attractive location for medical professionals. Mayor Marcus Hoffeld also regularly welcomes medical students and doctors in further training. At a recent meeting in the Schwemlingen group practice of Dr. Volker Rettig-Ewen welcomed 15 young talents, including a student from the North Eifel and 14 women from Saarland.
The invitation to this event was jointly extended by the Merzig Economic Development Agency, the Medical Faculty of Saarland University and the Saar Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians. The aim of this initiative is to ensure long-term medical care in the city and surrounding areas, as Merzig currently has a sufficient number of established and qualified family doctors, but would definitely like to ensure this in the future.
