The annual general meeting of the handball community (HG) Amberg took place on June 15, 2025, where the focus was on the election of the new department management. The meeting was well attended by many members who actively participated in the discussions and elections. The event is an integral part of the club's calendar and is held at the beginning of each year. Not only were the new leaders elected, but the financial report was also presented and reports from the active and youth teams were presented. The department head Bernhard Karl was reappointed.
The following department head was elected for the next three years: Bernhard Karl as department head and Maximilian Schaller as deputy department head. Claudia Scheeler takes over the cash register operations, while Wolfgang Schaller acts as sporting director. Kathrin Holzner and the two youth leaders Lucas Kührlings (female) and Christof Heiduk (male) are responsible for children and youth leadership.
Organization of the general meeting
The holding of such a general meeting is of central importance for every association. As experto.de explains, all members must be invited at least two weeks before the date. The invitation should include the reason for the meeting and the agenda. In Amberg the meeting began with the chairman's welcome and the quorum was established.
In addition, the cash report and the department heads' annual reports were presented. These reports are important for discharging the management board, another central item on the agenda. The department head and the treasurer explained the financial aspects of the club, while the sporting directors highlighted the teams' achievements.
Elections and results
The election was subject to clear rules that were set in advance. According to the reports from the board, the members elected an electoral board team that recorded the new elections. New elections were usually held by a show of hands, with secret ballots being held for various positions. At this time, the members of the department council were also elected: Christian Rohrbach, Roland Schmid, Daniel Hüttl, Tobias Hirsch and Patrick Niec support the new management.
The following people held additional positions for one year: Christina Vogel as the person responsible for public relations and Fabian Rohrbach as her deputy as well as Christian Klann as the deputy treasurer and Bastian Schaller for the support association and sponsorship. The meeting ended with a closing statement from the chairman, who thanked all members for their participation and commitment.
The new department management is now entering an important phase in which it will set the course for the future of HG Amberg.
