HAK Rohrbach is thrilled: Mahmut Cadirci dominates the foreign language competition!
The 20th BHS foreign language competition took place in Upper Austria on June 6, 2025, where numerous talented students demonstrated their skills. HAK Rohrbach in particular was able to record considerable success.
Mahmut Cadirci, a 5b student at HAK Rohrbach, shone in the switch competition, where he achieved first place in the competition with a combination of English and Spanish. This even led him to second place in the national competition. The event attracted a total of 90 BHS students who competed in various competition formats. Tandem competitions were offered in English, French, Italian and Spanish.
Results and highlights of the competition
The Switch competition, in which participants must demonstrate their skills in two languages, required spontaneous responses to questions from experts based on real business situations. Over a period of around 15 minutes, the participants had to demonstrate their linguistic skills in moderated conversations. Cadirci's outstanding performance was highlighted by Karin Schietz, teacher of French and Spanish at BBS Rohrbach. She described the competition as a valuable platform for talented students.
In addition to Cadirci's success, there were other notable results from BBS Rohrbach students. Laura Pöchtrager from 5 b of HLW took third place in the English-French switch competition, while Miriam Naderhirn from 5 c of HLW took second place in the French individual language competition. The diversity of the competition participants and the high quality of the performances were positively acknowledged by both the students and their teachers.
Overall, HAK Rohrbach and BBS Rohrbach have consolidated their reputation as training institutions that promote the linguistic talents of their students and offer outstanding achievements in foreign languages. The positive response to the competition reflects the commitment to developing language skills.
