The Lower Saxony State Authority for Road Construction and Transport (NLStBV) has published important information on the upcoming renovation of the B 215 federal road between Eystrup and Hassel. Accordingly, the extensive renovation work begins on Monday, July 7, 2025, and covers a section that extends from the entrance to Eystrup to the Verden district border behind Hassel. The renovation will be carried out with the road completely closed, which means that road users will have to expect significant restrictions.

A first information evening took place on February 26, 2025, to which around 30 traders came to find out about the planned work. On Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 6 p.m., the NLStBV is organizing another information evening in the Eystrup freight shed (Am Bahnhof 8). Interested citizens are invited to take part in the lecture and ask their questions. Registrations are not required, making it easier to access concerns and suggestions from the public.

Details about the renovation

The renovation includes roadway repairs over a length of around five kilometers. This measure is necessary because numerous cracks and dents were found in the road surface. The expected construction costs of the road repairs amount to around 1.6 million euros, while the simultaneous renovation of the cycle paths alongside the road behind Hassel in the direction of Dörverden will cost around 300,000 euros. The work is expected to take three months, with the majority of the renovation work being carried out during the summer holidays in order to minimize disruption to school bus traffic and local public transport.

The B 215 will be completely closed in sections, starting at the entrance to Eystrup (Feldstrasse) to the district border with the Verden district behind Hassel. Diversion routes will be coordinated in collaboration with relevant authorities, including police and municipalities. It is emphasized that only classified roads (federal, state or district roads) are used for diversions, while inner-city traffic is routed via the respective cities and municipalities.
