Patrick Zajelsnik breaks record at the Homburg mountain race in 2025!

Last weekend saw the 50th edition of the Homburg ADAC hill climb, where Patrick Zajelsnik dominated the event. The 44-year-old racing driver, who has both German and Slovenian citizenship, not only secured overall victory, but also set a new course record. Zajelsnik, who drives for MSC Erftal, only needed 1:03.021 minutes in the first of the three races for the 2.6 kilometer route from Homburg to Käshofen, significantly improving his own record of 1:03.440 minutes, which he set in 2024.

A total of 79 starters in 18 classes took part in the event, which was watched by around 3,000 spectators. The weather cooperated and provided ideal conditions so that many drivers were able to achieve their personal best times. Zajelsnik once again proved his class by remaining below the old record in the following two runs with times of 1:04.898 minutes and 1:05.004 minutes.

Results and placements

The placings in the race reflected the high level:

Place driver Total time Best run
1 Patrick Zajelsnik 1:03.021 minutes
2 Benjamin Noll (Bad Neustadt) 2:17.273 minutes 1:08,414 minutes
3 Marco Lorig (Rinteln) 2:24.271 minutes

Jochen Stoll from the HAC came sixth overall and at the same time secured the touring car championship with his Porsche 991 GT3 Cup. Uwe Neu from Homburg won class two in a time of 2:46.328 minutes, including a best lap of 1:22.950 minutes. Despite the high number of participants and the exciting course, the event had to be interrupted due to four accidents, although fortunately no injuries were reported.

Organizational efforts

The organizers and around 170 helpers were very satisfied with how the race went. Andreas Herl, the chairman of the Homburg Automobile Club, said he was positive about the entire race weekend. The 50th edition of the Homburg Hill Climb will be remembered not only for the sporting achievements, but also for the smooth execution.
