Friendship singing in Herbitzheim: A festival of voices and emotions!
On October 28, 2025, the third friendship singing of the Kolores choir took place in the old school yard in Herbitzheim. Under the direction of the new conductor Dana Wagner, those present experienced a musical celebration in bright sunshine. The event was opened with the title “Singing is fun” by Uli Führe, who immediately put the audience in a festive mood.
Six choirs shared the stage and performed a varied program. The participating guest choirs included the “St. Martin Singers” from Medelsheim, who performed the piece “Nobody Knows the Trouble I’ve Seen” under the direction of Christina Kaiser. Another highlight was the performance of the choir “Chorios” from Rubenheim, whose conductor Thomas Zäh presented the songs “Moon Dance” and “Red Lips Should Be Kissed”. The “Taktstrich” group from Kirrberg also impressed with their performance of “Seaman, your home is the sea”.
Variety of performances
Each choir was able to show its strengths. The “Chor 98” from Ommersheim under the direction of Friedel Hary brought hits such as “A Hard Day’s Night” and a powerful “Hinterm Horizont” by Udo Lindenberg. The group “4Sounds” from Völklingen, led by Alexander Ghobrial, provided additional shine with the titles “Skyfall” and a medley from “Emanuela”.
The event concluded with a positive assessment from Kristina Sand, chairwoman of the Kolores choir, who emphasized the importance of such musical gatherings for the community.
Outlook on upcoming events
The singers from Herbitzheim are looking forward to further upcoming events. A children's musical is on the program for November 21st and 22nd. In addition, visitors can expect Advent concerts that will take place on December 20th in the Barbarakirche in Herbitzheim and on December 21st in the Stephanuskirche in Böckweiler.
At a time when people are looking for something new, one could see a kind of “novelty” in the upcoming Advent concerts, in the sense of something new and unusual. The term “Novelty” refers not only to novelties, but also to the quality of being new, which makes these upcoming events particularly attractive. Such experiences help to appreciate the diversity of artistic performances and gain insight into fresh, creative forms of expression.
