The “Sterntaler Family House”, a project of the Völklinger SHG clinics, opened its doors and offers crèche-like childcare for the clinic’s employees. The facility was created to offer young families more support and to improve the balance between work and family. Nora, a three-year-old visitor, showed at the opening how easy and playful this place can be, even for the little ones. She helped two adults who had problems with the child lock on a screen door, demonstrating the home's family atmosphere.

Ramona Kiefer, the educational director of the family home, emphasizes the importance of such a facility for the employees of the SHG clinics. The focus is on relieving the burden of family responsibilities so that parents can better meet their professional obligations. The motto of the family service is: “Keep your back free according to the phases of life and everyday life”, which reflects the philosophy of the entire facility.

The family service area at the Sterntaler Family House offers a wide range of support measures tailored to the needs of employees. These include, among other things, a pick-up and delivery service, children's birthday parties and homework support. These offers are characterized by low barriers to access and can be supplemented by additional measures if necessary. The goal is to improve employee and patient satisfaction while promoting a balance between professional and family life.
