The Saarbrücken Zoo can look forward to valuable support. Today, June 13, 2025, a modern incubator for bird eggs worth 4,100 euros was handed over to the zoo. This donation comes from the “Friends of the Saarbrücker Zoo e.V.” association, which has supported numerous projects to preserve biodiversity since it was founded in 1972. Zoo director Jakob Kolleck accepted the gift from the club chairmen Frank-Thomas Bienko and Ali Mohammad.

The newly purchased incubator allows bird eggs to be raised artificially if the parents cannot afford this. After hatching, the chicks are returned to their parents, which is an important step in safeguarding the zoo's animal species.
