Unsettled weather and possible storms are expected in Rhineland-Palatinate next weekend. If wind speeds exceed 50 km/h, warning level 1 comes into force, while warning levels up to extreme storms have been set for gusts over 140 km/h. Thunderstorm warnings are divided into different levels, with the highest warning level warning of extreme symptoms such as hail or hurricane-like gusts. Different intensities are also taken into account when it comes to heavy rain: if the amount exceeds 40 l/m² in one hour, an extreme storm warning is issued.
