Big baseball evening in Shakopee: Indians vs. St. Patrick in the live stream!
Today, June 10, 2025, a special event will take place at Joe Schleper Stadium in Shakopee: the first stop of the 2025 Town Ball Tour, hosted by FOX 9. At the center of the action is the long-awaited baseball game between the Shakopee Indians and the St. Patrick Irish. The game begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be broadcast live on FOX 9 and on the FOX 9 YouTube channel.
The live broadcast of the game starts at 5:00 p.m. and viewers can watch the event on various platforms, including the fox9.com/live and via the FOX LOCAL mobile app.
A celebration for the community
The Town Ball Tour aims to promote Minnesota Amateur (Town Team) baseball, which has been popular in Minnesota for over 100 years. The increasing popularity of the amateur matchup, particularly due to the high cost of professional play, is a positive sign for the local baseball community. The event in Shakopee will not only feature baseball games, but will also highlight local attractions and businesses in morning, noon and evening broadcasts. The The Hub News reports that the events are free and the Joe Schleper Stadium Fund Committee planned in collaboration with KMSP/Fox 9 and the city of Shakopee.
An exciting supporting program awaits visitors, including lunchtime festivities at the Shakopee Bowl with Wiffleball and a raffle giving away $15,000 in cash prizes. Raffle tickets are $100 each and proceeds will go toward improvements to Joe Schleper Baseball Stadium.
Future of baseball
In addition to the celebratory activities, Joe Schleper Stadium will also host the 2026 Minnesota Amateur Baseball State Tournament. The tournament, which typically draws 25,000 to 30,000 fans over three weekends in August and September, will feature Shakopee and New Prague as co-hosts, while Jordan and Chaska will serve as additional sites.
The day of the event will feature a special atmosphere: In addition to baseball games, there will also be youth baseball competitions at Tahpah Park, and a Shakopee Post 2 Legion game will be held at 4 p.m. Additionally, an ice cream truck will provide free ice cream servings for the Shakopee Youth Baseball teams in uniform, and the CAP Agency of Shakopee will be present at the event collecting donations for non-perishable food items.
With a packed daily schedule and promised fun for the whole family, the Town Ball Tour makes a statement of community and strengthens local baseball culture in Minnesota while shining a spotlight on popular teams and players. The 2025 Town Ball Tour will travel to numerous additional communities in the coming weeks, including Avon, Brownton, Anoka, Springfield and Princeton.
