New daycare paradise Kinderland” opens in Überherrn – a milestone for the community!
On May 19, 2025, the new “Kinderland” daycare center in Überherrn, Bisten district, was officially opened. Education Minister Christine Streichert-Clivot visited the facility and praised the change from a transitional quarter in Altforweiler to a modern home for the children. This opening represents a significant milestone for the community, which is working hard to improve educational offerings for the youngest children.
“Kinderland” now has space for 108 children, who are looked after in six groups. The development of this daycare center was not only necessary to meet the increasing demand for childcare places, but also to ensure the best possible promotion of friendships and personal development for the children. Mayor Anne Yliniva-Hoffmann emphasized the enormous importance of the project for Überherrn and emphasized that the educational path begins at an early age.
Financial support and cooperation
The project was supported by generous funding from the Ministry of Education and Culture amounting to over 2 million euros. In addition, the Saarlouis district, represented by District Administrator Patrik Lauer, also makes an important contribution to financing the daycare center. The sponsorship lies with Kita Kinderland GmbH. In her speech, Streichert-Clivot emphasized the importance of daycare centers as places of learning and living that make a decisive contribution to the development of every child.
The opening of “Kinderland” is the result of effective cooperation between all those involved, which District Administrator Patrik Lauer particularly emphasized. This is already evident at the official groundbreaking ceremony for the new building on April 19, 2023, which represents a clear commitment to improving early childhood education in the region.
The new premises not only offer space for the children, but also a modern environment that significantly expands the learning and playing opportunities. The population of Überherrn plans to actively support this new facility and the positive effects on the community are already noticeable.
