Fast-paced chase in Saarlouis: motorcyclist flees from police!

On the evening of June 23, 2025, a spectacular chase between the police and a motorcyclist took place in Saarlouis. At around 7:50 p.m. the driver fled from Bahnhofsallee towards Fraulautern. During his risky journey, the motorcyclist overtook several times in confusing places and ended up in oncoming traffic. This resulted in oncoming vehicles having to brake sharply or swerve to avoid serious collisions. The police have asked the public for help and asked witnesses or victims to contact the Saarlouis police station on 06831-9010 or another police station.

This chase is reminiscent of similar situations that took place in other parts of Germany. There was an attack on a jeweler in Berlin-Wilmersdorf on Wednesday evening. At around 6 p.m., the perpetrators pushed the business owner and a customer into an adjoining room and stole jewelry from a safe. While escaping from a car sharing service in a black Audi, they caused a chase through Berlin that led through the districts of Tempelhof and Kreuzberg all the way to Mitte. As a result, there were nine accidents in which several people were injured.

Pursuing and fleeing: a dangerous combination

The Audi driver's escape led to a series of dangerous collisions. The getaway vehicle collided with a bollard on Märkisches Ufer, hit a passenger transport car on Rungestrasse and even drove towards a police officer, who was able to escape to the side at the last second. During his escape, the driver damaged a mail distribution box, a house wall and several e-scooters. In another incident, there was a collision with a police radio patrol car, in which two police officers were injured and required outpatient treatment.

The driver, a 38-year-old man, and his 30-year-old passenger suffered head injuries during the escape. The driver was taken into police custody after his outpatient treatment, while the passenger, where the loot was found, was taken to hospital. Both men should be brought before a judge as soon as possible.

The chases in Saarlouis and Berlin clearly show how dangerous such situations can be for both those involved and those who are not involved. Police and the public must therefore remain vigilant to detect and prevent future incidents in a timely manner.
