Markus Becker defies storms at the Whitsun Festival in Landsweiler!

On Sunday afternoon, June 9th, 2025, the well-known pop singer Markus Becker performed at “La Fiesta” on the Bergehalde in Landsweiler-Reden, in the Neunkirchen district. Despite health problems stemming from an upset stomach, Becker decided to continue his performance. However, during his performance, in which he performed hits such as “The Red Horse”, the event was accompanied by adverse weather. Strong gusts of wind and heavy rain showers unexpectedly spread across the festival grounds, but this did not dampen the mood. Becker praised the weatherproof visitors as “festival professionals” and most of his fans seemed to take the challenges with humor.

The weather forecast for the festival weekend was mixed. The German Weather Service had predicted that rain would initially occur in northern Bavaria on Friday, June 6th, followed by dry spells. Unstable weather with showers and possible thunderstorms was forecast for Saturday and Sunday, with strong gusts of wind particularly expected on Sunday. In view of these conditions, the festival management had prepared a comprehensive security concept in order to be able to react quickly and specifically to unforeseen weather events.

Safety precautions and recommendations

A dedicated meteorologist continuously monitors the weather situation in order to inform visitors in good time if there is a threat of thunderstorms. In the event of a storm, guests were asked to seek shelter in their vehicles or in the halls designated as collection points. The festival management also recommended wearing weatherproof clothing such as rain ponchos and rubber boots and anchoring the tents securely. Security personnel were on site to give instructions and ensure that all visitors followed recommendations.

Despite the adverse weather forecast, many fans' anticipation for the festival was unbroken. The mix of storm and music seemed to be a welcome challenge rather than an obstacle for festival-goers.
