Next events and activities of the fire department
The Rohrbach Volunteer Fire Department is planning further interesting events in the coming weeks. The youth district competition will take place in Loipersdorf on June 14, 2025. Just a few days later, on June 19, 2025, the popular Mostschank will take place in Jabing. In addition, the state competition for active athletes will take place in Mattersburg on June 27, 2025, where the best teams in the state will compete against each other.
Missions and anniversaries
But the Rohrbach fire department is also active outside of the competitions. On May 13, 2025, the fire department had to be alerted because of a forest fire. An alert farmer noticed smoke developing and informed the emergency services. When they arrived, around 30 m² of forest floor was burning, but the fire was quickly brought under control. Thanks to the quick deployment and effective firefighting with a high-pressure extinguishing system, the operation was over after around 90 minutes.
Also of note is the 40th birthday of fire department commander HBI Markus Oswald, who joined the fire department in 1997. He has held numerous positions and is actively involved in various courses and achievement badges, including the fire brigade achievement badge in gold. Under his leadership, a fire department museum was built and a ceremony was organized to mark the 100th anniversary of the Rohrbach fire department.
