HUGO BOSS visits: Innovative insights for fashion students!

On June 3, 2025, Torsten Homburg, Head of Design & Creative Technical Product Development, and Imme Marek, Management Technical Development Knitwear, visited Trier University of Applied Sciences. The aim of the visit to HUGO BOSS AG was to get to know the institution, to offer insights into professional opportunities and to explore potential forms of cooperation. The visit was organized by Prof. Christian Bruns and Prof. Dirk Wolfes, who invited everyone to dinner at the Palais Kesselstatt the evening before.

The official program started on Tuesday with a welcome at Irminenfreihof. In the auditorium at Paulusplatz, the two guests presented a lecture entitled “HUGO BOSS AG & BOSS KNIT UNIT”, which gave exciting insights into the company and innovative knitting products. Students then had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in direct exchange with HUGO BOSS representatives.

Practical insights and study opportunities

The lecture was followed by a tour of the premises of the fashion design course, during which the students in the field of knitting design presented their work. Particularly noteworthy are the personal conversations that four master's students were able to have with Ms. Marek and Mr. Homburg in order to share their perspectives and ideas.

HUGO BOSS AG is a global company headquartered in Metzingen that is one of the leading brands in the premium segment of the clothing industry. With around 18,600 employees in over 130 countries, the company generated sales of around 4.3 billion euros in 2024. This represents an almost four-fold increase since the turn of the millennium, with sales increasing significantly over the last four years. HUGO BOSS is one of the largest employers in the fashion industry and sees the development of technical knitting solutions as increasingly important.

Dual studies at HUGO BOSS

In order to further promote professional development, HUGO BOSS AG also offers a dual course of study. This is carried out alternating between three months at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University and three months of practical work on campus. The students benefit from individual support from experienced mentors who offer valuable support with technical and personal questions. This enables participants to show their personal talents and actively shape their careers by gaining intensive insights into the workings of a leading fashion and lifestyle brand. The university representatives thanked Ms. Marek and Mr. Homburg for their visit and looked forward to future collaboration.

Further information about HUGO BOSS's visit to Trier University of Applied Sciences can be found in the Trier University of Applied Sciences news report. Details about the dual study program are available on the HUGO BOSS careers page.
