The Homburg Music Summer will transform the old town into a lively music festival and begins on July 11, 2025. Numerous events are planned over a period of several weeks that will attract locals and visitors alike. The historic market square becomes the setting for a weekend full of musical enjoyment.
Entry to the concerts is free, making the festival particularly accessible. On Friday, July 11, the band BabaShango will perform from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. This troupe is known for their unique style that combines elements of Afrofunk, disco and soul. Frontman OQ not only knows how to make music, but also how to tell stories and inspire the audience. This promises an evening full of entertainment and an exciting atmosphere.
Jazz and diverse gastronomy
The program continues on Saturday, July 12th, with a jazz morning pint. The Metropolitan Jazz Band feat. Eva Emingerová will take the stage from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This band, founded in 1972 by trumpeter Josef Krajník, offers a wide repertoire that includes Dixieland, swing and Latin. The musicians have already worked with some of the Czech Republic's leading jazz singers and guarantee the highest musical enjoyment.
In addition to the musical performances, there is also a variety of gastronomy that ensures the physical well-being of visitors. A special highlight are the temporary road closures that can take place in the market square area when there is an increased number of visitors.

In total, the Homburg Music Summer includes 32 concerts that take place between the end of May and mid-September. The festival is organized by the Homburger Altstadt interest group. V. organized in cooperation with the city of Homburg. The start took place on July 5th with the “Willy Ketzer Trio” and Terrence Ngassa. Further highlights will be the performances of “Vulcano Live” on July 18th, a band with an Italo feel, and “All About Joel” on July 25th, a tribute to Billy Joel. The jazz scene will also be represented on July 19th with Nicole Johänntgen's formation “Robin”, which presents Caribbean rhythms, and on July 26th with the “Singin' Birds”, who play swing classics.
