Creepy fun for the whole family: Bexbacher Spooky Station on October 31st!

On October 31, 2025, the Bexbach Cultural Station will be transformed into a spooky festival of scary characters, because the city of Bexbach's Halloween event, now under the new name "Bexbacher Gruselbahnhof", is just around the corner. This year, due to the large crowds in previous years, the event was moved to the new venue, which offers more space for participants and spectators. The event starts at 5 p.m. and ends at 7 p.m. Participation is free and no registration is required. All children who take part in the event can look forward to a certificate and a sweet surprise from Mayor Christian Prech.

The Halloween festival, traditionally celebrated on the eve of All Saints' Day, has its roots in various cultural and pagan customs. Originally widespread in Catholic Ireland, the festival has now become popular outside the Western world. Typical Halloween activities include trick-or-treating, pumpkin carving and visiting haunted places. The connection to old customs, such as Samhain, where celebrating the dead is the focus, is still noticeable. In modern times, Halloween is often associated with horror themes, ghosts and the supernatural.

The event at the Kulturbahnhof

A magical program for young visitors is offered on the ground floor of the Kulturbahnhof. Various mini-games that require courage and skill provide exciting entertainment. Eerie characters will creep through the halls and create the perfect Halloween atmosphere. The organizing team is particularly looking forward to costumed visitors, who will give the event an additional spooky touch.

Halloween has grown over the years to become one of the Western world's largest celebrations, with significant financial expenditure on decorations, costumes and candy. In the USA, spending on Halloween was expected to reach $12.2 billion by 2023. This commercial side of the festival is in tension with the original cultural and religious roots of the celebrations. It turns out that Halloween can be used as an opportunity for fun and games as well as for remembering the dead.

Meaning and traditions

Just as Halloween itself combines numerous traditions and customs, the celebrations vary depending on the country and region. In recent decades, Halloween traditions have also become popular in Europe, where they are often interpreted as less scary and more humorous. However, the connection between the celebrations and ancient pagan festivals for the dead remains. The origins of Halloween are closely linked to the celebration of all saints and date back to the 7th century.

Overall, it shows that the Halloween event in Bexbach not only offers an opportunity for joy and conviviality, but also builds a bridge between modern celebration culture and the deep-rooted traditions that go back to the past. Visit the Bexbach Scary Station and experience an unforgettable Halloween!
