Music highlights of the week: Nostalgic concert and Homburg music summer!

In the region between Pirmasens and Saarbrücken, a diverse range of pop culture will provide musical highlights in the coming days. The focus is particularly on the nostalgia concert in the Z1 live music club in Pirmasens, which will take place this evening at 8:30 p.m. The All Stars Band perform here under the direction of Michael Bixler, consisting of musicians who represent the last 40 years of rock and pop history. Particularly noteworthy are the special guests, the band The Gangsters, consisting of the musicians Johannes Kröher, Bernd Adler and Michael Bernardi. The advance booking for this concert has already sold out, which indicates the high level of interest among visitors.

On Friday, June 6th, the Homburg Music Summer is on the program, which starts at 7 p.m. and offers a highlight of blues, soul and funk music with the band Black Stuff. This band has been known since 1984 and promises an exciting experience. Saturday, June 7th, will be dominated by Zydeco Annie & Swamp Cats, who will play on the Homburg market square between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. What is particularly noteworthy is that Zydeco Annie says goodbye to her audience after 20 years of stage presence.

More concerts and events

Further top-class performances are also planned for the weekend. On Saturday, June 8th, at 8 p.m., the Lulu Weiss Trio will play Gipsy Jazz at the Kammgarn Cultural Center in Kaiserslautern. The three musicians, Lulu Weiss (guitar), Rainer Northoff (guitar) and Peter Leonhart (bass), invite you to a relaxed and musically high-quality evening.

Also on Sunday, June 8th, there is a concert in the church Am Lorenzberg 10 in Saarbrücken, where The Vintage Men will be performing their blues program. The band Real Blue, with singer Heike Stark and musician Christian Bauer on keyboard and blues harp, will also perform.

Another concert that metal fans shouldn't miss will take place on Thursday, June 12th at 7:30 p.m. at the Garage in Saarbrücken. Hatebreed from Connecticut bring hardcore and metal to the stage and are on a joint tour with Carcass. On the same evening, but an hour later, the trio My Funny Cellotine plays together with Cheesecake 'n' Coffee and Djulia and Friends at the Kammgarn Cultural Center in Kaiserslautern.

The live music club Z1

The live music club Z1, which was founded in 2012 by the Musikfreunde Pirmasens e.V., has set itself the goal of continuing the tradition of the Pirmasens music clubParking®. With the move to the new location, a former Ristorante Luigi, at the end of 2022, the iconic flair of the old Z1 will also be retained. The association looks for active support from partners and sponsors who contribute to the operation with both monetary donations and services. A special highlight in the new space is the original “Z1 Bar”, which is reminiscent of the club’s history and creates an inviting ambience. The entire program is updated regularly and can be viewed on the Z1 musikclubs website.

Tickets for the upcoming concerts are available via the regioactive.de and reservix.de platforms, so fans can secure their seats for these musical events. An exciting music weekend awaits the region, offering very different sound worlds with nostalgia, blues, gypsy jazz and metal.
