A breath of fresh air at SV Wehen Wiesbaden: preparation for the season has started!
On June 26, 2025, SV Wehen Wiesbaden started summer preparation under head coach Nils Döring. In midsummer temperatures of 30 degrees, almost all of the squad's players took part in the first training session, which lasted 90 minutes and was particularly aimed at getting used to the ball and playing together. Döring, who has been leading the training since June 19, 2024, emphasized that the players should be gradually introduced to the stress after performance tests were carried out on Monday and Tuesday. He was optimistic about his team's physical condition after the break.
The Wehen Wiesbaden squad has received some reinforcements this summer. The new additions include Donny Bogicevic and Niklas May from Viktoria Köln, Robin Kalem from Hannover 96, Milad Nejad from Hamburger SV as well as Finn Ludwig and Tim Neubert from their own youth team. U19 player Jan Becker was also there at the first training session. Simon Stehle was missing due to injury, while Emanuel Taffertshofer, who had already been given leave, continued to train to keep himself fit. Marius Wegmann was released for contract discussions.
Test matches and training camps
The first test match is scheduled for Saturday, June 28th, against TSG Wörsdorf. It starts at 2 p.m. and entry is free for children, young people and pensioners; Adults pay five euros. A week later, on Friday, July 4th, the second test match against TSG Hoffenheim II follows. The team will then go to a training camp in Fügen in the Zillertal, which will take place from July 6th to 13th.
The schedule for the coming season in the 3rd league is scheduled to be published at the beginning of July. However, the DFB is forced to wait until the fixture list for the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga is announced on June 27th. The first matchday of the new season is scheduled for August 1st to 3rd.
Innovations in the 3rd league
In the new season, the 3rd league will feature several new teams. These include SSV Ulm 1846, SSV Jahn Regensburg, MSV Duisburg, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim II, 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 and TSV Havelse. 1. FC Saarbrücken, who failed in relegation against Eintracht Braunschweig, remains in the league.
