Traditional shooting festival in Dahl-Friedrichsthal: celebrate with us!

The traditional shooting festival will be celebrated in Dahl-Friedrichsthal from June 8th to 10th, 2025. Organized by the St. Josef Rifle Club, the festival weekend begins on Saturday, June 7th, with a beer tasting at 7:30 p.m. in the village community hall. On Pentecost Sunday, June 8th, the official start is at 2 p.m. with the shooters arriving at the village community hall, followed by a colorful parade.

The pageant leads to the reigning royal couple Markus and Anna Lorenz as well as the 50-year-old rejoicing queen Marita Schmidt. The imperial couple Hubert and Heike Kappestein as well as the 25-year-old cheer king Dirk Jürgens are also integrated. Well-known friendly clubs from Lütringhausen, Rüblinghausen, Saßmicke and Thieringhausen support the festival with their participation.

The program

Bird shooting, the highlight of the shooting festival, starts on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. The royal proclamation will take place at 7 p.m. in the festival tent, where the band from the Olpe Volunteer Fire Department will provide musical entertainment. From 9 p.m., the cover band “!NTACT” will create a party atmosphere in the festival tent. Monday, June 9th, begins at 9 a.m. with another parade at the village community hall and a wreath-laying ceremony at the memorial, followed by a high mass in St. Mary's Church.

On Whit Monday there will be a morning pint with a concert in the marquee at 11 a.m. before the new royal couple is presented at 4 p.m. Traditionally, the day ends with a royal polonaise, followed by the party band “SAM” in the evening. On Tuesday, June 10th, the royal couple and the children's royal couple will visit the “Dahler Spatzennest” kindergarten at 9:30 a.m. The children's shooting festival and a sack festival from 12 p.m. offer various activities and bird shooting for children. DJ Tim Ostermann ensures a good atmosphere.

Special highlights

Whitsun Sunday draws many guests from the Olp area to the Dahler festival tent, where the Schützenparty with the cover band “Simply Live” creates a party atmosphere. In addition to the musicians already mentioned, the musical accompaniment throughout the entire festival is also provided by the 1908 Wenden marching band in order to create a lively atmosphere.
