Historical backgrounds

Oberhaid's history goes back to the 14th century, which underlines the importance of the upcoming festival. With its first mention as a “heath” in 1376, the place has a long history that is shaped by the development of the region and the changes in the surrounding area. In addition to the oak tree, which is depicted in the town's coat of arms, the waves and the scales also symbolize the connection to nature and the balance of the community. These elements are reflected not only in the coat of arms, but also in the daily life of the Oberhaiders.

The next local elections are scheduled for June 9, 2024, and with the upcoming election interest in the future development of the community will also grow. Whether Oberhaid can overcome the challenges and continue to flourish in the next few years depends not least on the active population and their commitment.
