Chaotic wedding parade: Police hunt for reckless drivers!
On Saturday, June 7, 2025, a wedding parade with around 50 vehicles caused excitement and dangerous traffic situations in the Ludwigsburg district. The parade moved from Großbottwar along Highway 1100 towards Marbach and was perceived by numerous road users as extremely risky. Due to the participants' unusual driving style, the police received several calls reporting snaking lines across the entire road and blocking traffic, as rheinpfalz.de notes.
The situation escalated further when some vehicles drove into the oncoming lane and significantly hindered oncoming traffic. These reckless maneuvers led to a variety of dangerous driving actions, including tailgating, overtaking and cutting other vehicles, and ignoring red lights. At around 3:00 p.m. the parade was finally stopped and checked by the police after it drove via Marbach to Ludwigsburg-Eglosheim, as ludwigsburg24.com reports.
Dangerous driving maneuvers
In the parking lot of a vocational school center and at a bus stop, some drivers spun their tires, which led to additional traffic violations. According to reports, police also observed short drag racing and other risky driving maneuvers. What was particularly alarming was that an ambulance was disabled throughout the parade, which is now part of the ongoing investigation.
The unpredictable and chaotic conditions on the streets led to the city's law enforcement service being called in to deal with the traffic chaos. At around 4:30 p.m. the convoy of vehicles started moving again before police took final control of the situation.
Call for witnesses to come forward
The police have now launched a call for witnesses and are asking anyone who may have been injured or witnessed the wedding parade to come forward. Information can be given by calling 07144 / 9000 or by email to marbach-neckar.prev@polizei.bwl.de. This call aims to fully investigate the incidents and hold those responsible accountable.
