On June 13, 2025, the whole of Luxembourg will be dominated by celebrations to mark the 25th anniversary of the reign of Grand Duke Henri. The festival program, which will take place from June 21 to 23, 2025, not only celebrates the golden jubilee, but also coincides with the Grand Duchy's national day. Mayor Lydie Polfer expressed emotion about the upcoming celebrations and the importance of the regency for the country.

The festivities begin on Saturday, June 21, with a concert by soul-jazz singer China Moses at 6:20 p.m. in Place Guillaume II. At 7:50 p.m. Grand Duke Henri will be received together with his wife, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa. A highlight of the evening will be the presentation of a birthday cake for the Grand Duke, followed by another concert by US jazz singer Dee Dee Bridgewater at 9 p.m. The first day of the festival concludes with an impressive light and sound show entitled “25 Years of Regency,” which begins at 10:45 p.m., followed by performances by various artists in several squares from 11:00 p.m.

Torchlight procession and fireworks

Sunday, June 22nd, is dedicated to traditional customs. At 9:30 p.m. there will be a torch-decorated procession on the Place du Théâtre. At 11:00 p.m. the sky over the Adolphe Bridge lights up with a spectacular fireworks display that lasts 17 minutes and is accompanied musically by Maxime Bender. A varied program with Luxembourgish folklore and DJs will also be offered on the Place d’Armes from 7 p.m. The City Sounds Festival, which offers electronic music, also starts on this day.

Monday, June 23rd, the national holiday, begins at 9:45 a.m. with an official program in the Philharmonie. Highlights of the day include the 21-gun salute at 11:15 a.m. in Fetschenhof and the military parade taking place at 12:15 p.m. on Avenue de la Liberté.
