Summer festival of the last farmers' association in Saarland delights visitors!
The biennial summer festival took place on July 8, 2025 Producers' Association (EZG) Quality Grain Saargau-Hochwald instead of. This festival is organized by the last agricultural producer association in Saarland and offered an eventful platform for the members and friends of the community. This year, Boris Schmitt's family is presenting their idyllic farm in Münchweiler, where the focus was particularly on cattle farming.
During the course of the festival, the guests had the opportunity to tour the farm extensively. After the tour, we traveled on to the hosts' home address in Weierweiler. The day ended with a hearty meal where drinks flowed and entertaining conversations took place.
Holistic approach through self-marketing
The EZG Quality Grain Saargau-Hochwald not only acts as a producer association, but also as a central coordinator for marketing issues. The community does not act as a seller; Sales are made directly by the producers or their groups. This approach ensures that growers can vouch for their product and guarantee consistent quality and traceability.
In recent years, Community members have made significant investments in grain processing and storage capacity. These systems comply with the hygienic requirements of food law, which enables year-round supplies to processors and exporters, as saarbruecker-zeitung.de reports.
Long-term partnerships
The EZG ensures that farmers can market their products efficiently and directly. To ensure successful collaboration, it is in the members' interest to establish long-term business relationships that are mutually beneficial. To this end, it is important that customers communicate their requirements well in advance of sowing, as farmers only sow and harvest grain once a year.
The homepage of the producer association offers “business cards” of members as well as their offer pages for direct contact. In this way, interested business partners can easily contact the producers to find out more about their products and services.
For further information about current developments in cultivation and quality assurance, the producer association regularly provides information on its website. The event in Münchweiler once again showed how important exchange and networking among farmers are for the future of agriculture in Saarland.
