1,000 euros for Bärenhöhle: Sponsors focus on childcare!

A generous donation of 1,000 euros was presented today, June 2, 2025, to the Bärenhöhle toddler living group in Buweiler. This special event was made possible through the commitment of the “Leschtrer Körmes” committee and the Löstertal Catholic Youth Club, who each contributed 500 euros to increase the donation amount. The handover took place in a small ceremony, which was celebrated with rustic sausages and drinks. Wolfgang Maring, managing director of St. Hildegardishaus gGmbH, accepted the donation and thanked the donors for their commitment.

The Bärenhöhle toddler living group looks after a total of seven children between the ages of zero and six. The facility has existed for around ten years and offers around-the-clock care from motivated staff. Part of the program is to beautify the facility's outdoor area, which can now be implemented thanks to the donation. During the celebrations, the members of the committee and the youth club showed great interest in the educational work in the bear cave and gained insights into the everyday life of the residential group.

The concept of the toddler living group

The Bärenhöhle follows a holistic care concept that is tailored to the individual needs of the children. In this lovingly designed environment, not only are the children supported in their development, but their families also cooperate closely with the care staff. This type of support is crucial to enable children to grow up in a safe place.

The importance of support for families

In addition to the toddler living group, there are also other facilities such as the “An der Mühle” children’s living group, which offer support for children aged two to twelve. These groups specialize in providing curative education and systemic family counseling to help affected families activate their own resources. Parents are actively involved in the support process and are given opportunities to integrate their children into everyday family life.

The help in such facilities is usually limited in time and is intended to provide supplementary support to the family. The aim of these offers is to enable the children to return to their families. If this is not possible, there are alternative forms of living where the children can be placed. Such support is considered valuable in fostering the social and emotional resources of affected families.

The committed actions of organizations such as the “Leschtrer Körmes” committee and the Löstertal Catholic Youth Club make the valuable contribution to improving the living situations of these children and their families clear. It shows how important collective action is for the well-being of children and young people who need support in difficult life situations.
