Talented supermoto pilot Paul Müller misses home game in St. Wendel
Paul Müller, 15 years old and aspiring supermoto rider from Pfeffelbach, has to cancel his home game planned for this Sunday in the Wendelinuspark in St. Wendel. The talented rider had made great progress in preparation for the season before a serious training accident on a motocross track in Bauschheim derailed him eight weeks ago. In this fall, Müller broke his right forearm and left elbow, and his kidney was also crushed. After the accident was diagnosed, he was immediately taken to hospital and operated on. He spent four days there before the cast was removed a week ago. Despite his injuries, Müller showed remarkable resilience and survived the shock. “I had prepared really well for the season,” he explained, “that was very frustrating.”
Müller had great ambitions for the 2025 season, particularly with the goal of competing in the top S1 supermoto class. In January he submitted an application to the German Motorsport Federation (DMSB) and the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) for permission to participate. At first there were problems because the regulation stipulates participation from the age of 16. Ultimately, however, he got permission, which made him very happy. Müller also switched from a 250 to a 450 cc racing machine, which was made available to him by the experienced driver Markus Class.
Competitive ambitions and setbacks
The injury prevented Müller from taking part in the first races of the season in Harsewinkel and Wittgenborn. He had firmly decided to race in the top ten of the supermoto class and possibly even take part in a world championship race. Last season, Müller won the title in the S3/Youngster class of the International German Supermoto Championship and could therefore hope for another successful season. What is particularly painful for him is that he was able to win a race in Wendelinuspark last season and had many friends by his side there.
These friends will support him next weekend, even if Müller himself will only be there as a spectator. He plans to speak with them and discuss his return to racing season. The current focus is on conditioning, strength and mental training as he prepares for his comeback. He is currently doing training runs on motocross tracks in Walldorf and France in order to quickly get back into shape after his injury.
