The Kuwait U16 basketball team is on its way to Egypt today to prepare for the upcoming Arab Championships. The team has set up a 15-day training camp designed to improve both playing technique and team dynamics. This championship will take place in Cairo from August 10th to 17th and will bring together strong teams from across the Arab world.
The delegation will be led by Thamer Al-Shanfa, Secretary General of the Kuwait Basketball Association. In addition to him, the administrators Mishaal Mohammed and Fahad Al-Bous are also part of the travel team. The U16 team is led by Taleb Al-Kandari, with Talal Al-Qallaf as head coach and Yahya Al-Bahr as assistant coach.

In a statement, Al-Shanfa emphasized the importance of this training camp for the players. He emphasized that participation in such events provides valuable experience for the young athletes. The Arab Championship
The 25th Arab Basketball Championship, in which Kuwait will take part, is a major sporting event taking place from August 10 to 17, 2025 at the Cairo International Stadium. A total of nine Arab countries are taking part in the tournament, including Kuwait, Egypt, Morocco, Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, the UAE, Somalia and Mauritania.
