Cup fever is rising: draw for the first round on Sunday in Dortmund!
The DFB Cup draw for the 2025/26 season will take place on Sunday, June 15, 2025. This draw will take place in the German Football Museum in Dortmund and will be broadcast on television and online by ZDF from 5:15 p.m. Draw manager Owen Ansah, together with DFB vice-president Peter Frymuth, will chair the event, which will be moderated by Lili Engels.
Important for spectators: There are two lottery pots. The first pot, the “professional pot”, includes 32 clubs, including 18 Bundesliga teams and 14 of the best second division teams. The second pot, the “amateur pot”, also includes 32 teams, which consist of the winners of the state cups and the best third division teams, as well as four second division teams that have home advantage. 1. FC Kaiserslautern will also play an away game in the draw.
Participating teams
A total of 64 teams are taking part in the 2025/26 DFB Cup. These include 36 teams from the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga that automatically qualify.
