Criticism of Mayor Hertzler: Greens demand clarification in Blieskastel!

On Thursday evening at 5.30 p.m. the Blieskastel city council meets in the town hall Saarbrücken newspaper reported. The agenda includes a variety of routine items, but a motion from the Green Party is causing potential controversy. This calls for comprehensive clarification of events between the mayor, the city administration and the councilors. The focus is on two business instructions from the city administration that are available to the parliamentary group and are dated June and October.

These whistleblowers prohibit the councilors from selling the city of Blieskastel's assets. An individual authorization from the mayor is not considered sufficient to override the budgetary and financial regulations. The Greens believe that these business instructions particularly concern the sale of towed vehicles by Alderman Johannes Engel.

Demand for transparency

Lisa Becker, the parliamentary group leader of the Green Party, has spoken out in favor of access to the files on the challenged sales processes. The party is particularly irritated by the current disputes between Mayor Bernd Hertzler and the councilors Patrick Hüther and Johannes Engel, which have arisen in the last few weeks. The Greens are demanding transparency and clarification from Mayor Hertzler, and in particular the question of whether he has authorized angels to sell the vehicles is still hanging in the air.

The criticism of Hertzler is that he is not living up to his leadership role. Although the city administration in Blieskastel plays a central role in many relevant matters, there appear to be serious uncertainties and possible inconsistencies within the structure.
