Student rock for a good cause: Bexbach's band concert inspires 200 guests!

On May 30, 2025, a rousing concert by band classes 5a and 6a as well as the band group of the Galileo School took place in Bexbach. Under the direction of Juan Arauz, the students presented a varied program that included both rock and pop music. The event attracted over 200 guests who convincingly supported the talents of the young musicians.

A special highlight of the concert was the premiere of a self-composed piece by the band. This creative achievement was recognized with great pride by the school community. In addition, a collection of crown caps was carried out during the concert, the proceeds of which went to the Parents' Initiative for Children with Cancer in Saarland e.V. How Weekly Mirror Online reported, the numerous supporters and guests were warmly thanked.

Support for children with cancer

The fundraising campaign is part of a larger, committed project by the Parents' Initiative for Children with Cancer e.V., which has been supporting families with children with cancer on a voluntary basis since it was founded in 1981. Most notably, 8 out of 10 children can be cured with modern medical procedures, highlighting the importance of this support. This initiative works closely with the Cnopf Children's Clinic in Nuremberg. The charity concerts under the name “Rock Against Cancer”, which have been taking place annually in Belgium since 2017 and have also celebrated successes in Nuremberg, also provide information on support. In 2022, the first event raised €12,555 and in 2023 even €20,000 was raised for a good cause, as shown on the website GoFundMe is to be read.

The next charity concert in Nuremberg is planned for July 19, 2024, where three international bands will play free of charge for this important cause. Support can be provided through donations, attending a concert or the GoFundMe campaign. Visitors can find out about tickets and further information on the specified page.

With its latest concert, the Galileo School in Bexbach not only set a musical example, but also showed how important togetherness in the community is. Through such magical events, support for children with cancer and their families is constantly growing.
