Garbage collection is postponed because of Pentecost - new dates have been set!
On June 3, 2025, the city of Saarbrücken will announce an important change to the collection schedule for residual and organic waste as well as for the blue and yellow bins. Due to the upcoming Whitsun holidays, the regular collection dates have been postponed. The disposal, which would normally take place on Monday, June 9th, will now be postponed to Tuesday, June 10th. This adjustment has a direct impact on all subsequent collection dates in the following week, which will also be postponed by one day.
As the city administration reports, the emptying of waste bins on Friday, June 13th will also be postponed to Saturday, June 14th. Citizens can find all current collection dates on the website of the Central Municipal Waste Management Company (ZKE). www.zke-sb.de/abfahrttermine retrieve.
Current information about collection and reminder functions
In addition to the changes to the collection plan, the ZKE also offers a practical reminder function. Users can be notified of upcoming collection dates by email. This feature is available at www.zke-sb.de/erinnerung.
In addition, the “My ZKE” app offers an address-specific overview of collection dates and enables push notifications for up to three addresses. The app is available for both Android and iOS in the respective app stores.
