Cultural event at Saarbrücken Castle: Sundays full of music and magic!

From June 15, 2025, the palace gardens of Saarbrücken Castle will once again be transformed into a lively event location with the popular series “Sundays at the Castle”. This cultural event runs until August 31st and offers a varied program for the whole family on a total of ten Sundays. Admission is free and visitors can look forward to a wide range of music, theater and clowning.

Events begin every Sunday with matinées at 11 a.m., followed by a children's program at 3 p.m. and acoustic soirées at 6 p.m. The opening concert on June 15th will be performed by the Sean Athens Band, which presents modern blues rock. The series impresses not only with its musical diversity, but also with its varied children's entertainment - from magic shows to participatory musicals to clowning.

Diverse program for young and old

The matinées are made up of different acts: on June 29th the band The Dynamite Daze will perform roots blues, while on July 6th Layla Zoe & Band will present blues rock. For children, the highlights of the series include Maxim Maurice's magic show on June 15th and the participatory musical "Blau-Weiß-Rot am Strand" on June 29th.

The soirées feature acoustic music in the evenings from artists such as Smokestack Lightnin’ and Kaye-Ree Trio. On August 17th, the Hank Shizzoe Band from Switzerland proves to be a musical enrichment, followed by Stone Water on August 24th, who play soulful southern rock.

Culture for everyone

The series of events is organized by the Cultural Forum of the Saarbrücken Regional Association, which aims to make Saarbrücken Castle a real “citizens’ castle”. Children and adults regularly come together here to enjoy the cultural offerings and visit the castle gardens. The focus is on promoting family and children's programs, which are always free. Throughout the summer months, visitors can expect over 40 events in the areas of theater, music, clowning and pantomime.

To ensure optimal planning, printed programs are available in savings bank branches and tourist information centers. Further information is provided online at regionalverband-saarbruecken.de. Anyone interested can also contact the Saarbrücken regional association directly, which is located at Schlossplatz 12 and can be reached at (06 81) 506-0.

The events promise to be a highlight in the region's summer cultural calendar, as they present regional, national and international artists and enrich cultural life in and around Saarbrücken.
