CSD SaarLorLux 2025: Streets closed for diversity and celebration!
The Christopher Street Day SaarLorLux will take place in Saarbrücken on June 7th and 8th, 2025. This important event, which bears the motto “Our right – not a step back”, sends a strong signal for queer rights, against discrimination and for diversity. Loud SOL.DE On this occasion, the police will announce numerous road closures to ensure everything runs smoothly.
The closures will begin on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 8:00 a.m., with a part of Mainzer Straße from the Bleichstraße junction to the Paul-Marien-Straße junction being affected. These measures are scheduled to be lifted on Monday morning, June 9, 2025, at approximately 6:00 a.m. Additional closures will be necessary in the city center on Sunday June 8th as a large street parade takes place.
Event details and program highlight
In recent years, the CSD SaarLorLux has counted up to 75,000 visitors and 10,000 parade participants. On Saturday from 3 p.m. there will be restaurants and information stands on Mainzer Straße. The stage program from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. includes live acts and a political panel discussion, with artists such as Elke Brauweiler, It's Drag Habibi and Michelle de la Rose. Mainzer Straße becomes the “Rainbow Mile” with a varied range of food and drinks as well as information stands and hands-on activities, such as Saarbruecken.de reported.
Sunday begins at 2 p.m. with the start of the CSD parade in front of the state parliament on Franz-Josef-Röder-Straße. The demonstration through Saarbrücken's city center will feature music, dance and political messages and will end at the street festival on Mainzer Straße by 11 p.m. Acts such as Karlie Kant, Jenner Hendrix, Disco Inferno and Flamyngus can be seen on stage. There will also be a Waldresidenz rave stage with local DJs on both days.
Security measures and police presence
The police have announced that they will accompany the CSD parade and a registered anti-queer gathering that could take place along the elevator route. The increased police presence is intended to contribute to the safety of everyone present.
The CSD SaarLorLux is one of the largest queer events in the greater region of Saarland, Lorraine and Luxembourg. Since it was first held in 1998, it has promoted exchange and cohesion across national borders and symbolized diversity and solidarity in the European border region.
