Püttlingen introduces new cemetery regulations with modern types of burial!
The Püttlingen city council today decided on a groundbreaking new regulation of the cemetery statutes, which will bring about serious changes in the burial culture. More and more people are choosing the urn as a form of burial, and this development is reflected in the new regulations. This is reported by the Saarbrücken newspaper.
The innovative forms of burial include the newly introduced urn tree burial sites, which serve as an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional Friedwald burials. In addition, so-called “flower islands” are offered as individual and family graves, which offers the surviving families more flexibility and freedom of design.
Elimination of the deep grave
A significant change is the abolition of the deep grave, which is no longer offered due to falling demand. This is further evidence that the demands and wishes of funeral culture are changing.
Another point in the new statutes are the provisions for urn graves. From now on, these can only be filled with biodegradable urns. This measure is part of a broader trend to promote environmentally friendly burial practices and contribute to the sustainability of cemeteries. Further details on the burial regulations can be found in the sample statutes, which are available on the Website of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany is available.
These changes are part of a continuous adaptation to changing social needs. Püttlingen is following a general trend that can also be seen in other cities, where alternative types of burial are becoming increasingly popular.
