Attention, consumers! Recall from Lyoner due to metal danger in sausage!

A current recall concerns the Saarland Lyonnais Fleischerei Stroh GmbH. The recall was announced on May 24, 2025 because possible metal foreign bodies were found in the sausage. This could pose a health risk to consumers.

The affected batch has a production date of May 8, 2025 and was sold between May 12 and 16, 2025 in Rewe stores and at Stroh butcher shop outlets in Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate. Since the Lyoner was sold as loose goods without packaging, there is no best-before date.

Information for consumers

Consumers are urged not to consume the sausage. Instead, they should either discard the sausage or return it to the store. A return is possible without any problems as the purchase price will be refunded even without a receipt.

In addition to this recall, there are other warnings related to sausage products. Edeka and Rewe also had recalls due to possible foreign bodies in products Ruhr News reported. In particular, injuries to the mouth and throat and if swallowed pose a significant risk.

More callbacks

Another relevant recall concerns the Echt Gut Jagdwurst, which may also contain foreign bodies. This product belongs to Fleischwerk Hessengut GmbH and is available in Edeka, Herkules, Marktkauf and Ratio markets. The best-before date for this hunting sausage is June 16, 2025. Here too, it can be returned without presenting a receipt.

The current recall campaigns illustrate the importance of consumer warnings and regular controls in the food industry. Consumers should be aware of the risks and return relevant products promptly to avoid possible injuries.
