Ju-Jutsu kids conquer fear: Exciting night in Perl!

On May 31, 2025, the Perl Ju-Jutsu Association hosted an exciting kids' night, which included a training camp and an overnight stay in the gym. The focus was on important defense techniques that the youngest members should learn against adults. These techniques were previously learned at the children and youth course in Saarbrücken, in which 13 participants from the association took part. The combination of theory and practice should not only strengthen children's skills, but also give them self-confidence.

The evening included a self-defense course in the dark locker rooms that was both feared and loved. This course offered four attacking situations, which were graded according to difficulty. While the first two situations only involved contact with adults, the third situation involved physical contact. In the fourth and final situation, a coach appeared in a full contact suit, which was intended to provide the children with a realistic experience.

Master the challenges

During these exercises, the children were able to free themselves with all their strength without any injuries occurring. This was possible thanks to the trainer's full body padding and helmet. After successfully completing these challenges, participants were proud to have overcome their fears and mastered the situation. The night ended with the creation of self-painted wooden boards, which were smashed the next morning to present the newly learned techniques to the parents.

The Perl Ju-Jutsu Association shows its commitment to youth work through such events. As vereinsleben.de reports, the club works with three age groups and, in addition to regular training, also offers special events. Before the Corona period, courses were offered for children in Saarland, which were supplemented by innovative online training units during the lockdown. This shows the association's flexibility in times of crisis and the desire to maintain contact with its members.

Diverse training offerings

In addition to the regular children's and youth training, the club offers adult classes with numerous Dan teachers and varied content. Adapting the forms of training to the needs of the members after the restrictions have been relaxed has proven to be particularly important. In particular, the opportunity to train both at a distance and with contact was positively received by members.

Overall, the Perl Ju-Jutsu Association stands out for its wide range of offerings and committed youth work. The 16-hour marathon at the most recent Kids' Night is a successful example of the innovative and exciting design of the training offerings, which promote both the technical skills and the self-confidence of the participants.
