Tele Freisen photo club shines: new leadership and great successes!
The annual general meeting of the Tele Freisen photo club took place on June 6, 2025, at which Steffen Klos and Jannik Scheer were unanimously confirmed as first and second chairmen. The event committee remains unchanged: Janine Weisel acts as secretary, Christian Becker as cashier and Thomas Reinhardt takes on the role of press officer. In addition, Alida Krampe and Lukas Forat continue their work as youth leaders, while Peter Klos resigned from his position in the organization. Dagmar Linn-Bost and Birgit Jenni will succeed him.
Peter Klos was made an honorary member for his 50 years of membership on the board. Arnold Eisenhauer also received an honor for 50 years of membership, followed by Birgit Jenni and Klaus Beermann, who were honored for 40 years. In his presentation, Steffen Klos reported on past activities and the club's future plans.
Successes and future projects
During the meeting, Heribert Maurer presented the chronicle of 2024 and the first three months of 2025. The photo club achieved notable successes in competitions, opened several exhibitions, conducted photo excursions and organized workshops. A significant development was the recent partnership with the Fotofreunde Käerjeng in Luxembourg, which includes future cultural exchange projects, exhibitions and mutual visits.
The club was also involved in various charitable projects. An ambitious construction project for a photography museum in Freisen is currently in progress, which should further increase the attractiveness of the association. Particularly noteworthy is the club's sensational success in participating in the international competition at the German International Photo Cup 2025, where Tele Freisen received the title as the best German photo club. The members achieved four medals, four certificates and a total of 272 acceptances in a competition that is considered international. The members rated the success as sensational, as the Saarland Photo Club achieved seventh place, which underlines the club's strong performance.
Youth promotion and outlook
For the future, the Itäe photo club has planned separate appointments for new members to discuss competition photos. Youth support will also continue; Among other things, an action day and trips to exhibitions are planned in the summer. These activities are intended to promote interest in photography among young people and strengthen exchange within the club.
The annual general meeting once again illustrated the dynamic development of the Tele Freisen photo club and its commitment to photography and the community.
