Felix Magath: Football legend becomes brand ambassador at Pyrum Innovations!

Felix Magath, the well-known football legend and former coach, is now involved as an investor and brand ambassador for Pyrum Innovations AG. This company based in Dillingen an der Saar specializes in the recycling of used tires and is described as a technological pioneer in the field of pyrolysis. Magath, who is 71 years old, is enthusiastic about Pyrum's future prospects and sees the business model as a promising investment.

Pyrum Innovations AG pursues an innovative recycling process that converts almost all components of old car tires into oil, gas and soot. Magath is impressed by the efficiency of the process, which makes it possible to extract raw materials without having to dig into the earth. Pyrum CEO Pascal Klein emphasizes that Magath's extensive experience and contacts in politics will be particularly valuable, especially when expanding new production facilities.

Challenges and future plans

Financing new plants is a major challenge for Pyrum. The cost of building new production facilities is estimated at 50 million euros. Banks only cover a maximum of 60% of the financing, while subsidies account for around 10%. In the coming years, Pyrum plans to build a grinding and pelletizing plant, which will be the largest of its kind in the world, to increase soot pellet production.

In the 2024 financial year, Pyrum achieved sales of almost 12 million euros, but had to accept a loss of around 10 million euros. Despite these challenges, Magath sees great potential in the industry, especially since the soot obtained is used, among other things, to make new bicycle tires. It also emphasizes the company's social relevance and entrepreneurial consensus.

Technological innovation and environmental protection

Pyrum's patented pyrolysis technology actively contributes to the circular economy and, according to the Fraunhofer Institute, is extremely environmentally friendly. The CO₂ savings from processing used tires amount to more than 965 kg CO2 equivalent per ton, which is above the industry average. Pyrum is already working with well-known customers and partners such as BASF, Continental, Schwalbe, Michelin, Mercedes-Benz, Remondis and Suez to further expand their environmentally friendly solutions internationally.

With Felix Magath on board, Pyrum not only signals strong growth, but also a commitment to sustainable and future-oriented industry development. Magath plans to use his wealth of experience and extensive network to make Pyrum known to a wider audience. This partnership could represent a decisive step towards a successful future for the company.
