Art in focus: Charm/Shame” inspires in Pirmasens' Alte Post!
The Saarbrücken artist Dennis Di Biase and Jonas Mayer present their latest works in the Alte Post in Pirmasens. The exhibition is titled “Charm/Shame,” a creative play on words intended to make visitors think. This show was created at the invitation of the Art & Culture Association and is an enrichment for the local art scene. The works on display include Jonas Mayer's impressive painting "Mitsubishi GT 3000", a pigment, acrylic and glue painting on canvas from 2024. The variety of works of art shows the range of creative expressions and attracts visitors interested in art. This is reported by rheinpfalz.de.
The exhibition is not the only highlight in Pirmasens. On Saturday, August 19th, the first open-air art fair “Art Pirmasens” will take place in Strecktalpark. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., a total of 27 artists will present their works and the participating creative minds will have the opportunity to present their work to a wide audience. The event is organized by the “Kunschd’raum” association, which was recently founded and offers artists from the region a platform. Anyone who paints, sculpts or photographs can register for the event.
Artistic encounters in the park
There are some organizational details for the participants to take into account. Artists can set up their stands and works of art from 9 a.m., but they must bring their own tables, easels, chairs and parasols. Tents and pavilions are not permitted and no electricity is available. Access for the artists to unload the materials into the park is made easier, so that nothing stands in the way of a creative and inspiring atmosphere.
The project is supported by the city administration and the horticulture department, which underlines the importance of the event for local culture. The head of the cultural department, Denis Clauer, expresses his enthusiasm for the open-air art fair and emphasizes how important such initiatives are for a sense of community. The event will also be accompanied by music from Klaus Reiter, who will perform between 2 and 4 p.m.
Committed actions for everyone
There will also be hands-on activities at individual stands, including a painting activity by Manuela Sauer, which will actively involve visitors in the creative process. Another highlight is the auction of a picture of 200 flowers painted by visitors. The proceeds go to a children's hospice, which emphasizes the social responsibility of the event. The organizer Eberle plans to hold the open-air exhibition once a year in the future in order to further revitalize and promote the art scene in Pirmasens, adds wochenblatt-reporter.de.
