Classical music for children: Homburg's educational offensive inspires!

An important educational project was launched in the Saarpfalz district that makes classical music tangible for teachers and students. This project, entitled “Classical Music Makes School”, is supported by the Foundation for Culture and Environment of the Kreissparkasse Saarpfalz. It aims to promote cultural education in the region and is particularly aimed at primary and special schools.

The initiative is in close collaboration with the HA Multicultural Orchestra and the pianist Anny Hwang. Together they want to convey classical music in a lively, creative and age-appropriate manner, with Camille Saint-Saëns' “Carnival of the Animals” serving as a musical guide, as Saarbrücker Zeitung reported.

Supporting students through innovative reading methods

Parallel to this cultural approach, there is also progress in the area of language training. A new reading book offers special help for students who need speech therapy and is aimed at children from different social backgrounds. This work includes, among other things, a reading function that acts as an important linguistic model and supports learning to read.

The book is a valuable resource, especially for students with a refugee or migrant background. It includes a vocabulary function that is intended to specifically address children who grow up in families with poor languages. In addition, a syllable pusher motivates children who have difficulty learning to read, and sign videos provide additional exercises for children who particularly need the support. These methods enable children to practice independently of parental support and to make progress independently, as Mildenberger Verlag notes.

Equal opportunities in education

These diverse approaches are intended to promote equal opportunities and an improvement in educational offerings for all students. Whether through the inspiring power of music or innovative reading methods - the goal is to offer every student the best possible framework for their development.
