Homburg's youth football: SG Erbach is crowned city champion!

On June 5, 2025, the Homburg city championships in youth football concluded on the SV Einöd artificial turf pitch. The event, which was organized by the Homburg City Association for Sport, offered exciting competition and helped to promote the talents of young footballers from the region. Over two days, numerous spectators were able to watch the games and cheer on their favorite teams.

In the B-youth, SG Erbach was able to secure the title with a clear 4-1 win in the final against SG Höcherberg. Previously, SG Erbach beat JFG Königsbruch 3-0 in the semi-finals. SG Höcherberg won 2-1 against SV Einöd in an exciting semi-final. Third place went to SV Einöd, who won 3-1 against JFG Königsbruch.

Results of the individual age groups

SpVgg won the C-youth. Einöd 1 won the championship title with a 1-0 win against FC 08 Homburg in the final. Here too, SG Erbach was able to come third by defeating JFG Königsbruch 4:3 in the game for third place. In the E-youth tournament, FC 08 Homburg won the title with a 1-0 win against FSV Jägersburg 1, while SV Reiskirchen 1 took third place after a 1-0 win over FSV Jägersburg 2.

The D youth tournament had to be canceled due to a thunderstorm, which resulted in no decision. The meeting between the A youth teams between SV Kirrberg and SG Höcherberg was also canceled, which increased the tension in the competition.

The city championships started with an opening on May 30th at 6 p.m., followed by the first games on May 31st, which started at 9:30 a.m. In total, numerous teams from the region took part in this competition, which not only promoted the young athletes' football skills, but also team spirit and fair competition. Willi Hennes was the contact person and stadium spokesman, supported by a team that made the event run smoothly.

In the G and F youth classes, all participating players received medals to recognize the commitment and participation of each individual.
