Thai Garden Festival 2025: A weekend full of enjoyment and culture!

Last weekend the second “Thai Garden Festival” took place in the picturesque German-French Garden in Saarbrücken. The event stretched from Friday to Sunday and attracted thousands of visitors despite parallel events taking place in the region. Organizer Oliver Häfele explained that the festival area was doubled this year to offer guests more space to relax. In total, about 60 exhibitors, including food trucks offering a variety of Thai specialties, artisans and tour operators, took part in the celebration.

The festival aimed to introduce Thai culture and offered a varied program for this purpose. Particularly noteworthy were the musical performances by well-known Thai artists such as Tai Orathai, who was the first Thai singer to sell three million albums in a row, and Tao Phusilpa, who thrilled the audience with their performances. Up-and-coming artist Lumplearn Wongsakorn was also there and delivered a rousing performance.

Variety of cuisine and entertainment

The culinary offering was extensive and included delicacies such as Pad Thai, Tom Yum soup and green curries. Visitors could also enjoy mango shakes, Thai curry and even an exotic version of the German currywurst. The variety of dishes was part of a large selection of dishes that rounded off the overall picture of the festival.

Another highlight was the presentation of the traditional Thai martial art Muay Thai. Demonstrations and trial training sessions were offered to give visitors an insight into this fascinating sport. In addition, festival participants were able to enjoy a second stage in the “Valley of Flowers,” where a Muay Thai boxing ring was set up.

Interactive experiences and cultural highlights

The festival also provided a platform for interactive experiences. Visitors had the opportunity to take selfies with the performing artists and receive small gifts. In addition, traditional Thai dances were performed, which impressively presented Thailand's cultural heritage.

Despite the initially sunny weather on Friday and Saturday, rain on Sunday meant that some visitors stayed away on the final day of the festival. The future of the festival remains uncertain as organizers have yet to decide whether to continue next year. However, the “Thai Garden Festival” has already taken a permanent place in the regional event calendar and has enjoyed great popularity.
