Saarbrücken is looking for environmental heroes: apply now for the climate protection prize!
The state capital Saarbrücken has announced the call for entries for this year's environmental and climate protection award. The aim of the prize is to honor projects and commitment in the area of environmental and climate protection that have been implemented within the last two years. This important initiative is open to clubs, associations, initiatives and individuals who are involved in various areas of climate protection.
Total budget for the prize is 10,000 euros. Prizes and awards of up to 2,000 euros will be awarded to the best entries. Applications can be submitted in writing or by email, whereby the address of the responsible office for climate and environmental protection can be found at Dudweilerstraße 41, 66111 Saarbrücken. The email address Umweltamt@saarbruecken.de is also available for inquiries.
Application criteria and topic suggestions
The submitted projects must address topics related to environmental and climate protection as well as adaptation to climate change. Possible topics include:
- Biotopsicherung und -pflege
- Erhaltung ökologisch wertvoller Landschaftsteile
- Schutz bedrohter Tier- und Pflanzenarten
- Umweltbildungs-Veranstaltungen
- Nachhaltige Mobilitätskonzepte
- Klimafreundliche Ernährung und Einkauf
Submissions will be evaluated by a jury made up of members of the Environmental Committee. The award ceremony is taking place for the fourth time and helps to raise awareness of environmental and climate protection in the region.
