Cultural workers wanted: Creative projects for primary schools in Saarbrücken!

The cultural office of the state capital Saarbrücken is looking for committed and pedagogically qualified cultural workers who would like to realize innovative cultural projects in schools. With the aim of making it easier for children to access art and culture, the office wants to promote creativity and anchor cultural education in everyday school life. Applications are possible now until June 15, 2025. The application form is available on the Saarbrücken website.

The planned school culture projects are to be implemented at various primary schools in Saarbrücken in the 2025/2026 school year. We are looking for concepts from the areas of theater, dance, visual arts, literature, film, media or interdisciplinary approaches. The offers are integrated into school operations on a weekly basis, with close cooperation with the staff of the respective school as well as an age-appropriate and inclusive design of the projects being desired.

Diverse projects at primary schools in Saarbrücken

In the current school year 2024 to 2025, over 30 projects in visual arts, storytelling, songwriting and dance theater are taking place at nine primary schools in Saarbrücken. These initiatives show the diversity and creativity of cultural workers in the region. This includes, for example, the “art-creative course” under Claudia Vogel at the voluntary all-day elementary school in Eschberg, which benefits all first grades.

The Folsterhöhe Voluntary All-Day Elementary School offers interesting courses such as “Expressive Dance: Animals, Nature, Body” in class 3 under Miguel Bejarano and a “Music Project” course as an afternoon group under Ettienne Kraffert. The Jägersfreude-Herrensohr Voluntary All-Day Elementary School also has varied projects such as “Experience Art” and a graffiti project led by various artists.

Integration and cultural participation

Through these projects, the Cultural Office not only promotes cultural participation in Saarbrücken primary schools, but also holistic learning by allowing children to get to know their surroundings outside of their district. Among other things, exhibitions in the city gallery or campaigns on children's rights are planned.

Interested cultural workers should be able to demonstrate demonstrable pedagogical qualifications, such as training or documented experience in working with children. The comprehensive support of cultural education in Saarbrücken offers a valuable contribution to the development and fulfillment of children and young people.
