DJK Dudweiler conquers gold at the table tennis finals in Erfurt!

On the Pentecost weekend of June 15, 2025, the largest table tennis event in Europe took place in Erfurt, with around 1,000 participants taking part. This year was a special event, as seniors from the German Table Tennis Association (DTTB) were also represented for the first time. Particularly noteworthy is the success of Bernd Schuler, who competed for the DJK Dudweiler and won an impressive three gold medals.

Schuler prevailed in the age group 75 (AK75) and won both doubles and mixed doubles. In the mixed final he competed with Hannelore Dillenberger (TV 1860 Nassau) against the competition from Gertrud Ruge and Manfred Schlicht (HTTV) and secured the title with a 3-1 win. Schuler also showed a strong performance in doubles with Gerd Werner (TuS Rheydt-Wetschewell 1899) and prevailed in the final against Manfred Schlicht and Franz Traub with 3:1 sets. In the AK75 singles, Schuler was the top favorite and won all knockout games 3-0, and in the final he defeated Gerd Werner again and became German champion.
