Huskies show strength: Clear victory against Roosevelt in football!
On November 1, 2025, the Michigan Tech Huskies football team celebrated an impressive victory over the Roosevelt Lakers, winning 56-31 at Kearly Stadium. With this win, the Huskies improved to an overall record of 7-2 and 4-1 in the GLIAC, while Roosevelt fell to 1-7 and is still looking for its first win in the GLIAC. The game was exciting until halftime, with the score 21-17 in favor of Michigan Tech.
The Huskies were particularly strong in the second half, scoring 35-7. Wide receiver Nic Nora stood out with a career-high three rushing touchdowns and totaled 59 rushing yards and 53 receiving yards. Freshman quarterback Elliott Larner, playing his first game as a starter, threw for 195 yards and a touchdown. This was an important performance for the Huskies, especially after they scored on five of six drives in the second half.
Defensive strength and newcomers to the team
Michigan Tech's defense also proved crucial, forcing and recovering two fumbles in the third quarter. Chase Koch led the defense with ten tackles, while Porter Zeeman contributed nine tackles. In contrast, Roosevelt only scored one other touchdown in the second half, scored by backup quarterback Zach Zella.
A highlight for the team was also Jake Rueff and Cameron Cornett, the latter scoring his first career touchdown. After this win, the Huskies now face a tough challenge when they face the 25th ranked Grand Valley State Lakers on November 8, 2025.
Outlook for future games
Another exciting game is coming up for the Michigan Wolverines as they take on the USC Trojans on Saturday, October 11, 2025. This game will be played at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on NBC. USC enters the duel as a 2.5-point favorite, expecting a strong performance from their quarterback Jayden Maiava, who currently has the third-best performance in passing efficiency statistics.
On the other hand, Michigan, ranked No. 14 in the AP poll, is playing with Bryce Underwood, who has been less efficient than his opponent this season. The prediction is that USC could win 31-24 while USC has received 71% of the money on 53% of bets.
There are also significant developments in the broader college football landscape. The Colorado State Rams recently parted ways with head coach Jay Norvell. He had led the team since 2021 and only had a record of 18-26. There were also changes at the Florida Gators: Head coach Billy Napier was fired after a turbulent 23:21 win against Mississippi State. These shifts in power demonstrate the dynamic nature of college football this season.
Next week brings a host of exciting matchups, including SEC rivalry games and the return of the Holy War between Utah and BYU.
